ATA HOUSTON HOSTS EXCLUSIVE SCREENING OF ATATURK: 1881 – 1919

Houston, Texas — ATA Houston, a nonprofit organization established in 1979 to promote cultural ties between Turkey and the United States, hosted an exclusive screening of Ataturk: 1881-1919 at MATCH on April 26, 2024. This was only the second screening of the film in the United States.

We were pleased to welcome Turkish Consul General Mr. Ahmet Akıntı and his family, along with representatives from the Consulates of Angola, Brazil, Italy, and Mexico, to the screening, expressing their deep admiration for Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Republic of Türkiye. Representatives from ATA Houston’s constant supporters Çimsa Americas and Texas Children’s were also in attendance.

Produced by Mehmet Ada Öztekin, the film chronicles the life of Ataturk, from his childhood in Thessaloniki to the National Struggle for Independence, portraying his human qualities in a dramatized narrative. Turkish actor Aras Bulut Iynemli portrays the lead role admirably.
