In late 1980’s, American Turkish Association members were discussing writing down the Turkish recipes they used. This group later became the ATA Cookbook Committee. Their aim was threefold. They wished to write down their recipes for their children. They wanted to have their recipes translated into English, available for American relatives and friends who showed interest in Turkish food. They also believed this collection of recipes would fill the void for young Turkish men and women homesick for Turkish dishes but ignorant of their preparation; likewise the many Americans who have lived in  or visited Turkiye and poignantly remember the delights of Turkish cooking

The 1,000 First Edition copies of the Anatolian Feast Cookbook were sold out by the end of 1999. Based on requests for more copies of the cook book received from many friends and other Turkish organizations, ATA Houston decided to publish the second edition of this cookbook.

The Second Edition has been reformatted with additional graphics and few more recipes have been added.  Photos of several favorite dishes taken during parties given by the members of the Houston Turkish Community, have also been added.
