The annual ATA Houston General Assembly meeting and the general elections will be held on Sunday, January 2012, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at ATA TCC, 5322 Ashbrook Drive, Houston TX 77081. The call for nominations was communicated via email to the ATA- Houston membership and wider community on late November and early December 2011. After confirming with all the individuals nominated that they wish to indeed run for office, we have complied a list of nominees. The ballot and the short bios for nominees are attached.
We hope that you can attend this meeting. If you are unable to attend, you can vote via mail (address on our letterhead) or email (
president@atahouston.org and
secretary@atahouston.org) – please send the completed election ballot and the completed and signed proxy of the other family member to the General Assembly on the day of the meeting. Upon receipt of these two documents, we will use your signed proxy to validate that you have cast your vote and at that time separate your ballot from your proxy to ensure the anonymity of the vote. All votes will be tabulated at the General Assembly meeting by the Election Board, consisting of individuals not running for a position. Any ballot received without the accompanying proxy from will be constituted as an invalid entry.
Note that you should meet these two conditions in order to be eligible to vote:
1- The person had been an ATA member for at least a year duration in the past and renews membership prior to voting or,
2- 2- The person becomes a new member at least three-months prior to voting

• Treasurer’s summary of latest fiscal year
• Absolution of the current Executive Committee and the Board of Directors
• Conception of the Election Board
• Elections
• Call for proposals from the Assembly
• Discussion and the vote on the suggested proposals
• Conclusion
By all accounts, 2011 was a successful year for ATA-Houston; a report on the activities is attached for your consideration. In order to continue on this successful path, we need a smooth transition to the new committee as soon as possible. Therefore, it is imperative that you either attend the General Assembly meeting or return by mail or email the attached ballot and proxy before January 27, 2012 to ATA Houston.
